One of the very best things about living in the UK is easy access to the BBC. As much as I love film and tv, the real treasure (for me) is Radio 4. Since the inception of the iplayer and the various podcasts I have been able to keep up with my favourite programs in my own time.
One of the best things on at the moment is Neil MacGregor’s series on, “A History of the World in 100 Objects.” These short programs are on for about 15 minutes every weekday and they are a real treat. Mr MacGregor, who is the Director of the British Museum, presents each object. His descriptions are poetic and scholarly. As he talks the items ‘appear’ before the eyes – although they are readily available in picture form on the relevant website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ahistoryoftheworld
